Soundfirm, one of Australia’s largest and most respected post-production companies, has announced it is now licensing Origami, the powerful cloud-based post-production workflow and media asset management platform.

Soundfirm first deployed Origami on the second season of the hit Australian TV series Strife, where the platform’s automated VFX pulls service transformed the show’s editorial and VFX workflows.

“The ability to streamline manual, time-consuming VFX pulls with Origami was a huge advantage on Strife S2,” said Post-Production Supervisor Lisa Jacobi. “The efficiencies enabled our Editorial team to stay focused on the creative needs of the show, at a time when their workload was rapidly expanding.”

Origami combines trimming, metadata, colour, and framing information with Original Camera Footage (OCF) to enable secure, accurate, and self-managed VFX pulls from anywhere in the world.

By removing manual bottlenecks and automating much of the post-production ‘middle work’, the platform delivers speed, flexibility, and security, while integrating seamlessly with editorial processes.

Ross Mitchell, Technical Operations Manager at Soundfirm, added: “Using the power of the camera file’s metadata, a VFX Editor can submit their EDL to Origami and sleep soundly knowing that the VFX scans will be delivered quickly, accurately, and to the highest technical standards – anywhere in the world – all within a couple of mouse clicks.”

With facilities in Melbourne, Sydney, and Beijing, Soundfirm has built its reputation on efficiency, innovation, and complete post-production solutions under one roof. Adopting Origami aligns with its mission to place Editorial at the epicentre of the creative process, ensuring seamless collaboration at every stage of production.

Tom Mitchell, CTO at Origami, commented:
“Origami was designed to remove friction from the production process, giving editorial and VFX teams the speed, security, and control they need to focus on creativity. Seeing how quickly Soundfirm integrated Origami into their workflow on Strife 2 has been incredibly rewarding, and we’re excited to support them in delivering even greater efficiencies for future productions.”
